TITLE: ADULT, CHILD & INFANT CPR

This class includes:

  • Introduction to cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adult, children and infants
  • Discussion of the anatomy and physiology of the heart, lungs and circulatory systems
  • Review of heart health - risk factors for cardiovascular / cerebrovascular disease.
  • Identify signs and symptoms of a heart attack, stroke and choking
  • Demonstration and explanation of Heimlich Maneuver
  • Demonstration and explanation Abdominal Thrust
  • Demonstration and explanation of CPR - Adult victim
  • Demonstration and explanation of CPR - Child victim
  • Demonstration and explanation of CPR - Infant victim
  • Review of Personal Protective Equipment (OSHA approved barrier devices)
  • Skills Practice - Students perform CPR methods on sanitized mannequins
  • Question and Answer Session

TITLE: BASIC FIRST AID CURRICULUM

This class is designed to teach basic First Aid and Emergency Care to attendees. The class includes:

  • First Aid Audio-Visual Presentation
  • Scene Survey, Rescuer Safety and Patient Assessments
  • Bloodborne Pathogens - Bleeding Control with demonstrations
  • Handle people in Shock
  • Work with Burn victims (including thermal, chemical and electrical)
  • Head, Neck and Spine injuries (Musculoskeletal injuries)
  • Sudden illnesses (including Asthma, Diabetes, Anaphylaxis, Seizures and Strokes)
  • Poisoning (including ingested, Inhales, Absorbed, Plants, Animals and Insects)
  • Heat / Cold Emergencies (Nosebleed, Dental, Chest wounds)
